About the Townsend Center

Advocating the Arts to the People of West Georgia

The Maurice K. Townsend Center for the Performing
Arts supports the academic departments of Music and
Theatre throughout their various performance and
educational endeavors, supports the academic mission
of the university as a whole, and advocates the Arts to
the university and surrounding communities.

The Townsend Center serves as an advocate for
the Arts and Arts Education in the region. Both the
university and local communities benefit from cultural
enrichment and educational opportunities provided by
a variety of events at the Townsend Center.
