In July of 2009, the Townsend Center launched a new outreach program with master puppeteer Hobey Ford. Hobey thrilled students from far and near with his shadow puppetry workshops.

Inspiration Station continues June 21-25, 2010 with a weeklong workshop of mask making and performance techniques by Doug Berky. Using the illusion of mime, the antics of clown, the transformation of the mask, the suspense of a good story and the excitement of improvisation, Doug Berky will inspire laughter and reflection. He has performed and taught as Artist-in-Residence at numerous schools and colleges.

The workshop will include mask design and construction, mime and movement, circus arts, and story telling through mask theatre. The week ends with students performing in the Friday night show with Doug. Registration is underway with early bird discounts: call 678-839-4722.
